We're beginning this series with a personal favorite of ours, the early 2000s classic The Fast and the Furious. This action gem was released in 2001 and focused on the underground world of street racing, and its connection to crime and awesomeness. We can thank this movie for really boosting Vin Diesel and Paul Walker into the spotlight. Paul Walker plays Brian O'Conner, who is a young officer in the LAPD assigned to infiltrate this fraternity of rubber burners and find out who has been hijacking trucks of precious electronics.....DVD players and Combination TV/VCRs. A whole truck's contents could be bought for $17.50 today. Still, they aren't the stars of the show. That falls onto the action, thrills, tricked out cars, and cheesy lines. The street racing world revolves around Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel. Brian must slip into Dom's tight knit crew to find answers, but he quickly finds that things aren't as simple as he hoped. This movie is heavy with thrills and doesn't disappoint. The movie became a cult classic and a huge success. Since the original, 6 more films have been released, with 3 more already planned beyond that, for a total of 10. Fast 8 releases on April 14th, 2017, so there is no better time than now to start from the beginning, and catch up on this amazing series!

My mom and I's favorite movie series of all time is The Fast and the Furious. Many people say that the movie glorify crime and violence. However, that is not the lesson of the movie at all. I do not believe that it glorifies crime and violence since it is centered around a protagonist who is after taking down notorious criminals. It actually warns viewers that should they engage in such kind of illegal doings, they will face grave consequences and it could actually cost them their life.
